It has been a minute y’all! I write often, but today I felt inspired to share. I am a creative, which is also my blessing and my curse so when I feel like my brain is too full, I write. I was inspired to write about it this morning in my Stillness Practice AKA Miracle Morning which brings me to your…
Something to Read:
I call these my Just Write entries and use this as a discipline when I have so many things in my mind. I set a timer and just write. I challenge myself to have a beginning, a middle and an end. This has become a tool for me when I get stuck, paralyzed or overwhelmed with my current state of mind. I care less about grammar and more about letting my fingers just write and eventually this stimulates movement in my mind that sets me up for a great day. Perhaps this may inspire someone to try this out and see how it plays out in your life.

I often get asked, "What is the Hippo Social Club all about?" In true Tracey fashion, it's hard for me to give you just one soundbite. In the past, this might have frustrated me and led to a negative internal dialogue, paralyzing my response. But not today. Today, when asked what the Hippo Social Club is, I feel inspired.
The soundbite might go something like this: "Hippo Social Club is an indoor/outdoor wellness optimization space in Hutto Texas, spanning a 36-acre campus, centered around our foundational pillars of fuel, movement, and connection."
But the truth is, there's no single definition for what the Hippo Social Club is. It’s an environment, a community, and a wellness ideology connected through the desire to find balance and live vibrantly through positive physical and mental health. It's a place equipped with all the necessary tools to set you up for optimal well-being in mind and body.
The Hippo Social Club is best experienced through participation and engagement. Wellness varies for everyone, and there's no right or wrong way to achieve it. For many, optimal wellness is more of an idea than a tangible practice and lifestyle. We're surrounded by a culture designed to keep us fat, sick, tired, isolated, and disconnected from our natural world, feeding mental disease and physical destruction.
Current culture encourages taking pills, seeking connections through screens, and isolating ourselves from the outside world—living in our homes, cubicles, vehicles, separated from in-person interaction, movement, and connection. If you wake up today with anything less than gratitude for this life you live and the freedom to live it as you desire, the Hippo Social Club might be what you need to redirect yourself back to your best self.
Pushing our physical and mental well-being to the bottom of our to-do list only leads to rising disease and sickness. When it spills over, destruction follows, with our mind and body at the helm. We must value our personal wellness and the simple practices that promote living well. If we wake up and immediately check our screens, we spiral into a world of medication, physical and mental illness, isolation, loneliness, and disappointment. We say we want to live better, but our actions tell a different story.
Today, choose to do something for your physical and mental health. Break the survival cycle and discover balance through fuel, movement, and connection within a community that prioritizes well-being. Take it outside, bask in the sunshine, and engage in activities that inspire and nourish your mind and body. Experience the invigorating benefits of cold plunging under the Texas sun, exercising outdoors with others who prioritize living well, or simply walking barefoot in the sand, breathing deeply, and immersing yourself in nature.
Engage in conversations and discussions around positivity, encouragement, and empowerment, equipping yourself with the tools to take control of your well-being. But first, you need to make a conscious decision to wake up every day, value, and love yourself in such a way that your optimal health becomes a non-negotiable in your everyday. Balance, wellness, and happiness will follow naturally from this commitment. Most importantly, we need to make wellness accessible, by creating environments that enable us to do so. Hippo Social Club is that oasis.
